Shayna completed her Master of Arts in Counseling with a specialty in Addiction Counseling from the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School. She has experience supporting individuals in a variety of settings including residential, private practice, and group homes. Shayna takes an integrative and person centered approach to counseling, and some modalities she utilizes regularly include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, strengths based therapy and she frequently integrates techniques from art and music therapy. She is passionate about walking alongside her clients as they navigate their own journey, utilizing skills and knowledge from both her and her client’s collective experiences and education. She especially finds value in working through topics such as identity development, life transitions, trauma, and relationship patterns. Therapy with Shayna is collaborative, honest, and growth-oriented. Your work with her will be a partnership where you make sense of your experiences alongside one another, identify what is no longer serving you, and intentionally build something new. A core part of her style is helping clients reconnect with their voice and authorship over their own lives. As a Jewish therapist, she has a particular passion for supporting clients navigating Jewish issues including antisemitism. She is LGBTQ+ affirming and committed to creating an inclusive, respectful space for all. She works with individuals and couples.
